Beavers Mullaney Named to Biletnikoff Award Watch List

Oregon State is the only member of the Pac-12 Conference with more than one Biletnikoff Award recipient – Mike Hass (2005) and Brandin Cooks (2013).

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Oregon State wide receiver Richard Mullaney has been named to the 2014 Biletnikoff Award Watch List, released Tuesday by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc.

Mullaney, a native of Thousand Oaks, Calif., enjoyed a breakout year as a sophomore in 2013 starting at split end opposite last season’s Biletnikoff Award winner, Brandin Cooks.

Mullaney finished second on the squad with 52 receptions and 788 yards including games of 142 yards at Utah and 122 at Washington State. Mullaney, in 2014, is the lone returning starter at receiver and is expected to help lead the Beavers’ passing attack.

Oregon State is the only member of the Pac-12 Conference with more than one Biletnikoff Award recipient – Mike Hass (2005) and Brandin Cooks (2013).

The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the outstanding receiver in college football. Any player, regardless of position (wide receiver tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award.

The award recipient is selected by the highly distinguished Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of 221 prominent college football journalists, commentators, and former receivers. Receivers may be added to the watch list as their season performances dictate.

The 2014 Biletnikoff Award winner will be presented live on December 11, 2014, on The Home Depot College Football Awards Show to be broadcast on ESPN. College and Pro Football Hall of Famer Fred Biletnikoff will announce the 2014 winner on the show.

The Biletnikoff Award Banquet will be held at the University Center Club at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla. on Saturday, February 7, 2015.

Oregon State returns to the practice field in preparation for the upcoming season Aug. 4 with the season opener Aug. 30 at Reser Stadium against Portland State on Pac-12 Networks.
