Mexican Navy Captures Head of Zetas Drug Cartel

Why The Capture of the Head of World’s Most Notorious Cartel Will Do Little to Stem Violence, Supply .

(MEXICO CITY) - The Mexican navy announced late Monday it had captured Miguel Angel Treviño, the head of the infamous Zetas drug cartel, the most violent crime organization in Mexico. In recent years, the Zetas have been blamed for tens of thousands of gruesome deaths south of the border, and untold atrocities in the US. While the capture symbolizes a win for Mexican president Enrique Pena-Nieto’s administration, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, a group of cops, border patrol officials, DEA agents and other law enforcement officers opposed to the war on drugs, cautioned it would make little difference to the prosecution of the drug war.

The war on drugs is based, in part, on the idea that if law enforcement can restrict the supply of drugs, prices will rise and demand will drop. The problem is that, because of its illegal nature, drug sales remain so lucrative that the arrest of a single individual does little to nothing to affect the long-term operation of the market.

“There may be temporary interruptions in drug supply because of the arrest,” said former ICE special agent Jamie Haase. “But as always happens in the drug war, any time you remove a person from an extremely lucrative position, there will be others waiting to take their place. The net result may be more violence as others rush into fill the power vacuum created by law enforcement’s intervention.”

Violence always increases when a Cartel leadership vacuum occurs...the demand side for illicit drugs doesn't decrease because the supply side goes through a leadership change. That's why Law Enforcement Against Prohibition was formed. Cops, judges, prosecutors, prison wardens and others who KNOW the War on Drugs is a failed venture and call for an end to this prolonged and wasteful crusade.

decriminalize drugs and this all goes away. And I tell ya, this guy they captured is all a publicity stunt, he will be sent to a mansion in Brazil. He was supported by the CIA and the bankers. Research: "wachovia banks drug money laundering", then follow the rabbit hole. He was probably given assault weapons thru the obama admin/holder fast and furious. I could ask 1 million people who do not do drugs "would you do drugs if they were decriminalized"? and 100% of them would say NO. People who are going to do drugs are going to do them, and if its illegal, they will get it thru the black market. Decriminalizing drugs will not make more people do drugs. In fact, legal pharma drugs are worse than most illegal drugs. The war on drugs is only for the globalists to make money and control the population. And lets not forget the good marines, just following orders, and guarding the opium fields in Afghanistan spreading heroin throughout the world, especially in the U.S. Then, those who get caught doing it, go to a pay for profit prison...wake up people.

About time, and it looks like he got a taste of his own abusive medicine . But you can guarantee he is still going to be controlling his own drug cartel soilders inside of prison. This person should be beheaded , just like those other poor people he got his men to film, while cutting people's heads off, and leaking it to the press and video sharing sights. Also he should have his kids taken away , and " reformed-educated" so they don't grow up like him , and taking over the family business , or taking their revenge. Lets hope the DEA can beat more crap out of him, so they can obtain more information in finding those sick bastards that have been cutting heads off with knives and chainsaws for his own personal cause.
