(PORTLAND) - If you’ve ever been frustrated by heading out to the Oregon coast during the summer and not being able to find a room, you may have found a friend online. The Portland-based Website BeachConnection.net is starting weekly updates on lodging availability every Friday. The website covers the upper half of Oregon’s coast, some 180 miles. This week, it began providing information about which lodgings and vacation rental companies still have openings for the weekend. The updates will be posted on the site every Friday, perhaps on Thursday evening, with lodgings from that entire 180 miles of coverage range. Lodgings from towns like Florence, Yachats, Newport, Seaside, Gearhart, Cannon Beach, Manzanita and many more report in to BeachConnection.net each week with their room availability for that weekend. “It’s going to be a very useful thing,” said BeachConnection.net editor Andre’ Hagestedt. “We’ve done these during holidays like Memorial Day weekend and Fourth of July, and they seem to be very well received by readers all around the Internet. And I believe the longer this is around, the more coastal visitors will hear about it and get used to using it.” The weekend updates will also include weather for the weekend, covering even Sundays and Mondays, for those who are extending their visits to the coast. They will sometimes include event highlights for the weekend as well. The weekend updates will run through summer, perhaps into September, when the famed “Second Summer” becomes prevalent on the coast, bringing the nicest weather of the year.
