(SALEM, Ore. ) - The City of Salem Public Works Department and the Polk County Department of Public Works wants you to Be Aware! of some upcoming road construction projects this week that could delay your commute. Please make a note of these projects, and if your commute takes you through one of these workzones, PLEASE! slow down, and expect some delays. Salem-Area Road Construction Report: Airway Dr SE Between 25th St SE and Turner Rd SE 7/16 - 8/31; 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Airway Drive SE between 25th Street SE and Turner Road SE will be reduced to one lane of traffic with flaggers. Use alternate route to avoid delays. This closure is for street improvements to Airway Drive SE as part of the Salem Airport South Industrial Park project. Mildred Ln SE Between Sunnyside Rd SE and Lone Oak Rd SE 7/16 - 8/3; 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Mildred Lane SE between Sunnyside Rd SE and Lone Oak Rd SE will be reduced to one lane of traffic with flaggers. This closure is for installation of utilities and street improvements as part of a development project. Edgewater St NW Between Rosemont Ave NW and Kingwood Ave NW 7/17 - 7/23; 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Edgewater Street NW between Rosemont Avenue NW and Kingwood Avenue NW will be reduced to one lane of traffic with flaggers. Expect some congestion at this location. This closure is for a sewer service installation. Polk County Road Construction Report: Airlie Road will have shoulder rock placement Monday, July 16 through Friday, July 20. Pilot cars will be used and travelers should expect minimal delays. Helmick Road will be closed to through traffic from Parker Road to Old Fort Road Monday, July 16 through Thursday, July 19. Local access and emergency vehicles will be allowed through. Use alternate routes between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Briarwood Street will be paved Monday, July 16 and Tuesday, July 17. Travelers should expect up to a 20-minute delay. Deepwood Lane will be paved Monday, July 16 and Tuesday, July 17. Travelers should expect up to a 20-minute delay. Michigan City Lane will be paved Wednesday, July 18. Travelers should expect up to a 20-minute delay. Elkins Road will be paved Monday, July 23 through Friday, July 27. Pilot cars will be used and travelers should expect up to a 20-minute delay. Ellendale Road - West, ½ mile south of Rickreall Creek will be closed Monday, July 16 through Friday, July 20. Local access and emergency vehicles will be allowed through. All other traffic should use alternate routes. This project is being performed by the City of Dallas.
