(STAYTON) - The Stayton Public Library has received a $10,000 grant from the Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation.

“Many of our iLevel associates and their families use the library, and it’s especially important to provide reading opportunities and access for all of our children locally,” said Rina Allen, manager of Weyerhaeuser’s iLevel facility in Stayton. “At Weyerhaeuser, we are committed to our communities in which we operate and this is a way for us to give something back.”

Allen said grant-making decisions are made at the local level by a group of company employees.

“We have an enthusiastic champion in Stella Cruson, our Stayton Weyerhaeuser Foundation Committee Coordinator. She helped make this happen along with the local committee members.”

Allen said local businesses, community organizations and residents have lit the torch for an exciting project that will return an education dividend for years to come.
