(SALEM) - A 28-year old man from Woodburn says he was kidnapped Saturday night by men who flagged him down while using a badge and claiming to be police officers. It happened around 8:20 PM at Butteville Road and Crosby Road NE in rural Marion County. The man told Marion County Sheriff’s Office investigators that two to three unknown Hispanic men took him and his vehicle from the location off Butteville Road, where they managed to pull him over. He said that after stopping his car, one of the suspects presented a badge and stated they were police officers. The suspects then demanded drugs, and later they bound the victim and stole his wallet and 1999 Honda Civic Coupe, with him inside initially. The suspects dropped the man off near Butteville Road, where he was able to make contact with police within an hour. Deputies say the vehicle was later recovered abandoned in the area. The suspects were reported to be driving a newer model Maroon colored Ford Taurus similar to the one shown at left, with tinted windows and unknown California license plates. Marion County Detectives say they are investigating the matter and ask that anyone with information about this incident please contact Detective Mike Myers at (503) 540-8096.
