(SALEM, Ore.) - They say “every dog has his day” and for Salem area dogs, that day is Saturday, July 23, when Willamette Humane Society (WHS) hosts its third annual Pooch’s Play Day.

Area dog owners and their canine best friends are invited to come to the shelter from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on July 23 for an afternoon of doggie-themed games and activities, including a “pup” cake walk, bobbing for tennis balls,  and the “My Dog Will Eat That” competition. Guests can also try their hand – and their paw - at the Mad Dash race, a trick station and even a doggie wet t-shirt contest!

All well-behaved dogs are welcome at Pooch’s Play Day. The entry fee is $10 per dog and includes participation in all activities, plus one raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the animals at Willamette Humane Society. No pre-registration is necessary. Guests can register on site beginning at 12 p.m. the day of the event.
