(MULINO, Ore.) - A family member and a pair of good Samaritans pulled a drowning man from the waters of the Molalla River Thursday evening. Then they sustained the 20-year old, and began CPR with instructions from a dispatcher.

Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies responded to the drowning call at the Wagon Wheel Park in Mulino at 7:00 PM, over a report that a Hispanic male began swimming across the Mollala River when he apparently became tired and went under the water.

A family member and two others went into the water to retrieve the man and brought him to the shore.

While on the phone to 911, they performed CPR until emergency services arrived and continued the procedures until crews arrived.

Rescue personnel say they immediately determined that Life Flight was necessary, it was activated.

Just after 7:30 AM, the man was life flighted to Emanuel Hospital where he remains in stable but serious condition in the intensive care unit.
