Oregon Woman Pours Hot Grease on Sleeping Boyfriend

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - The 4th of July holiday did not start well for one man, after his girlfriend poured hot grease all over him while he was sleeping.
Portland police and medical units received a call around 2:45 a.m. to a residence in the 7000 block of Northeast 27th Avenue. When they arrived, they found a 54-year-old male victim suffering from significant burns to his face, chest and hands. The victim was transported to a Portland hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Officers placed the suspect, 29-year-old Shiree Franklin, into custody. Detectives were unable to learn what led to Franklin pouring hot grease onto her boyfriend.
Franklin was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on one count of Assault in the First Degree (Domestic Violence).
Franklin will be arraigned on Monday.
