(OREGON CITY) - The suspect in a stabbing from Wilsonville, Oregon that happened on June 11th has been arrested in Fresno, California on attempted-murder charges. Oregon authorities considered 19-year old Jason Earl Nelson a fugitive. He was taken into custody by Fresno Police at approximately 1:00 AM, July 5th. Jason Nelson was wanted by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office for attempted murder. This attempted-murder arrest warrant was issued in Clackamas County as a result of an incident reported June 11th in Wilsonville. Investigators say that on June 11th, 54-year old Albert Lawrence Nelson, was discovered with multiple stab wounds in his apartment on SW Courtside Drive in Wilsonville. Albert Nelson told investigators he was assaulted by his son, Jason Earl Nelson, and an unidentified companion; they had come to Albert Nelson's residence demanding camping equipment. It is reported that both suspects had fled before patrol deputies arrived on the scene, resulting in what Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Jim Strovink called "an extensive manhunt in the Wilsonville area." Investigators learned the identity of the second suspect, and obtained an attempted arrest warrant for 17-year old Denton Marquez. Marquez is reportedly from the Fresno, California area, where investigators have recently focused their attention. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Detectives have been in constant communication with the Fresno authorities, providing potential addresses Nelson and Marquez may be frequenting. Early this morning, Fresno Police followed up on this investigative information provided by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office detectives Strovink says, and arrested Nelson at a provided Fresno address. Denton Marquez remains a fugitive, and is believed to be staying in the Fresno area, where he has an established history of residence. Two Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Detectives are en route to Fresno to continue pursuing this attempted murder investigation.
