(BEND, Ore.) - Two search warrants served by Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division troopers in central Oregon led to the arrest of four people on unlawful hunting-related charges. Sergeant David Pond with OSP's Fish & Wildlife Division in Bend says troopers executed a search warrant today at 51661 Huntington Road in La Pine where evidence related to illegal taking of deer during a closed season was seized including 13 rifles and a handgun. Three people have been arrested, 41-year old Chris Boal is alleged to have killed a 3-point buck and a doe on a winter range area near Fort Rock. He was lodged in Deschutes County Jail for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Taking Deer Closed Season and Theft in the First Degree. 31-year old Katrina Hunter was arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Aiding in a Wildlife Violation. 37-year old Johnny Hunter was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance/Methamphetamine. Pond says a second, unrelated search warrant was served January 11th at 3213 SE 35th Street in Redmond, where 29-year old Bryan Bergerson was arrested. He was transported to the Deschutes County Jail for two counts of Taking Deer (during) Closed Season and Theft in the First Degree. Police say Bergerson, who was awaiting trial after being arrested last year by OSP Fish & Wildlife Division troopers on an unlawful hunting charge, is also being charged in Crook County with Hunting During Prohibited Hours, and Hunting with Aid of Artificial Light, and Taking Deer Closed Season.
