(BRIGHTWOOD, Ore.) - Residents near the Sandy River are frantically filling sandbags in an effort to save their properties from rising flood waters. Gary Randall with Precision Artists says there are reports that Lolo Pass has washed out, reminding us that this is not the first time.

"What it means is that those that didn’t get out prior are now stranded unless they want to hike out. This happens up here every few years and is always exciting."

This is just one part of Oregon having weather related problems today. Highway 101 has seen two mudslides; one hear Rockaway Beach and one that is about 15 miles north of Florence.

Gary Randall says the raging waters are originating from the mountains.

"The best info so far is that we’ve had about 8 1/5 inches of rain up to about 7000’ on Mount Hood in the last 28 hours and it is washing the snow downstream."

Here are the latest updates from the National Weather Service.

The National Weather for Portland has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Oregon:

North Santiam River at Mehama - this affects Linn and Marion Counties. This is due to stay in effect through this evening or until the warning is canceled. At 2:00 p.m. Sunday the stage was 10.8 feet. Flood stage is 11 feet. Minor flooding is forecast; this river is expected to crest at 11.1 feet.

Clackamas River at Estacada and near Oregon City - The overall trend is for continued rises based on upstream and downstream river gauges. At 11:00 a.m. Sunday the stage was estimated at 21 feet; flood stage is 20 feet. This river was expected to crest near 24 feet by 4:00 p.m. Sunday.

H.E.A.R.T. (Hoodland Emergency Action Response Team), The Hoodland Fire Department and the Community volunteers are filling sand bags for anyone that needs them.
