Howard Street Charter School Accepting Applications for 2008-09 School Year

Prospective students and their parents are invited to come any time between 2:30 and 4:00 PM to visit classrooms, meet teachers and students.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Howard Street Charter School is now accepting applications from current 5th grade students for the 2008-09 school year.

Howard Street is a public 6th, 7th and 8th grade middle school with a strong emphasis on the arts, sciences and languages. All students are required to take three years of drama, art and science as well as three years of a foreign language.

Two informational meetings for prospective students and their parents are scheduled. On Tuesday, February 12, an information night will be held from 7:00 - 8:00 PM in South Salem High School’s Little Theater, 1910 Church Street SE. On Wednesday, February 13, the school will host a drop-in Open House.

Prospective students and their parents are invited to come any time between 2:30 and 4:00 PM to visit classrooms, meet teachers and students and view unique Howard Street projects.

Admission packets are now available in the school office. Friday, March 7 at 4:00 PM is the deadline for submitting applications. A lottery for admissions will be held on Thursday, March 13 at 4:00 PM in the South Salem High School Little Theater.
