A Rohingya Conference Held on 'How the Bitterly Divided ARU will be Unified'

Through analysis conducted with great scrutiny, it is observed that Arakan Rohingya Union leader, Dr. Waker Uddin, absolutely ignored his promise to hold meetings with his counterparts and completely failed to fill responsibilities that his community expected from him.

(FRANKFURT) - A Rohingya conference was held in Bangladesh on how the bitterly divided ARU will be unified. The conference was held to amend the ARU due to misleading of the dictatorially elected ARU DG Waker. The entire Rohingya community appeals to OIC to be alerted to refrain from being used by corrupted persons.

Generally, after 5 decades, to unify the entire Rohingya community who have been facing long persecution in western Burma, as an umbrella organization to represent all Rohingya organizations, the Arakan Rohingya Union, was comprised with 25 organizations in 2011 under sponsorship of OIC and Euro-Burma Office.

One of the Rohingya intellectuals, Scientist Dr. Waker Uddin, was appointed to serve the director general task temporarily until two years despite Rohingya have many experienced senior politicians who spent their whole life to protect the community.

Through scrutinous analysis, it is observed that Waker ignored absolutely to hold meetings with his counterparts and completely failed to fill responsibilities that his community expected from him.

During the two years, he swamped with establishment of more organizations to elect him as permanent DG with his relatives.

Few accounts on his temporary DG- term what he carried out for his distressed people ( 2011-1013)— he has not called any meeting  with his senior and junior counterparts , he has not visited to any Rohingya refugee camps where they face more double atrocities by both government and locals, he divided many unified Rohingay organizations and modified them with his hand-picked members who devote him as their spiritual mentor, he registered the ARU without organizational consensus, etc. (Here is omitted many of his disloyalty to his people).

Democratically, for appointment of a righteous person as permanent DG to serve the Rohingya community, in 2013, with the deceptive policies of egoist Waker, OIC held the second ARU conference with 61 organizations where 16 out of 25 organizations of 1^st ARU conference were eliminated and almost all the participated organizations were zero-figured in moral politics.

Eventually, without any opposition, Waker was elected dictatorially as permanent DG.

It is deplorable that the most significantly important part for ARU activities to lead the society, the executive director of EBO, H.E. Hann was absent in that second ARU conference held by OIC at OIC head quarter in Jeddah.

Then, to empower the ARU with deserved leadership of Rohingya, another   2^nd ARU conference with those 25 organizations participated in 1^st ARU conference, was held in Bangkok under sponsorship of H.E. Hann.

Last December, Waker  with his counterparts— Mr. Ayub and Mr.Baqdadi—visited UK and pledged with one of Rohingya senior leaders, Mr. Nurul Islam and the president of BROUK, Mr. Tun Khin that he will negotiate with those 25 organizations of 1^st ARU conference to empower the ARU for the sake of community.

Recently, Dr. Waker went to Saudi Arabia and strongly condemned Mr. Nurul Islam and addressed inflammatory speech to heavily condemn the remained Rohingya leaders including activists who are out of Waker’s influence.

Apparently, again, the disloyalty of Waker proved that his intention is not a fine-signal for his community’s fate.
