(SALEM, Ore.) - Thanks to a generous grant from the Spirit Mountain Community Fund, Northwest Human Services HOST Program will be able to expand its well-regarded social services to troubled youth in our community.

The grant of $24,500 will fund the Seeking Safety program, a nationally renowned evidence-based model for trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, and substance abuse. It is regarded as both an educational and therapeutic resource.

"We’re grateful to Spirit Mountain Community Fund’s sponsorship of this program," said Sebastian de Assis, the Development Director for Northwest Human Services. "This educational project will greatly maximize the HOST Program’s primary objective, which is to equip homeless and runaway youth with the necessary tools for personal development and responsibility."

Northwest Human Services HOST Program has been offering shelter, counseling, family mediation, safety, and support to homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth since 1982. HOST is proud of its high rate of success in turning around the lives of troubled youth. In the last fiscal year, 95% of the 182 youth who left HOST exited to safe housing situations.

"We believe that intervention through education is the best strategy to aid at-risk youth,” de Assis said. “We’re also aware that we cannot do our job without the support of reliable community partners."

Each year Spirit Mountain Community Fund, the philanthropic arm of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde invests nearly $5 million in organizations in the Willamette Valley. "We are thrilled to partner with HOST to implement an evidenced-based program that can change the lives of some of our most critical community assets: our teens," said SMCF Director Shelley Hanson.

Adopting this program will allow HOST to provide improved care that will supplement the emergency services already in place.

Thank you Vic, you are far from alone. My hope is it is only a matter of time before the anti-family child rendering system collapses. There are already lawsuits and as soon as they start the dominoes falling those responsible will be held to account fully for their crimes. The writing is already on the walls clearly as the rats are starting to abandon their doomed 'ship'. No one wants to be left in the office when the lights go out. Well they shouldn't. Payback will be glorious indeed! Ah well...

I agree, Neal...I worked as a CETA emplyee back in the 80s at a half-way house for juveniles...it was all about the money. I remember that even if a child had graduated the system, often they were kept there because "empty beds dont pay". I saw 24 year old "caseworkers" who had never had children of their own, but had their college degrees, playing God with families and peoples lives. Basically the system nullified the parent's rights and charged them $840 per month to do it. I quit in disgust after 2 years.

Keep in mind that this HOST program by their own rules (where they get off writing such rules is anyone's guess) allows them to take minor children in without notifying the parents even that their kids are safe for as much as 72 hours. Most kids that go through the program are in fact not abused or neglected byt instead are just acting out and using the program to aid and abet their attacks on their parents. Cases abound where children told not to associate with certain others run away to HOST where they are of course allowed to freely associate with whomever they want. Get told you cannot go to a party? Run off to HOST and go to the party from there. No one sems to give a whit about the anguish and terror that parents go through if their kids vanish off the face of the earth for three days without a word from anyone. Just who whe hell do these people think they are? Oh I know... you just put a tear in your eye and sayin you are 'doing it for the children' and any crimes you might commit are forgiven and forgotten. The HOST program works hand in glove with Gestapo CPS in the campaign to undermine and devalue the entire concept of family. To them kids are just chattel they use to move federal and local funds around in their anti-parent anti-family cottage industries. There used to be crimes on the books such as custodial interference. How, pray tell, does the HOST program and entities like them get away with such criminal activities? Apparently by looking at anyone who points out their wrongs and accusing them of supporting child abuse. Problem is that does not work since Gestapo CPS and their helpmates like the HOST program commit more child abuse and neglect than any documented parental abusers ever have. The most outspoken foes of Gestapo CPS and its fellow travelers are ex-CPS caseworkers, foster parents and kids who were 'saved' by these anti-family zealots. If they were such pristine and pure organizations you would think these would be their staunchest supporters... but it is quite the opposite. It does not take much research to realize why this is. Ah well...
