Will Israel Spark a Third World War at Gaza?

(SALEM, Ore.) - World peace is a fragile, sought after commodity; fleeting and hard to hold. The world's leaders traditionally place too little value in this pursuit.

The United States has marked the new century by running roughshod over the world, nearly abandoning one conflict that needed to be fought, and starting another war in Iraq that will not be over for years, even after U.S. forces leave.

Back in 2001, it was a small band of criminals who opposed us, but that number has gone through the roof though due to the U.S. occupation of Iraq. Sadly, the United States has launched tens of thousands of terrorist careers through its series of mistakes.

Now it is Israel's turn for military blunders. In spite of the rocket attacks, there is no excuse for what is taking place on Gaza today. Israel is slowly destroying the people who live here, in retribution for rockets fired by the elected, militant group Hamas.

So where does this lead? I said from the beginning that the conflict in Israel will probably serve as a distraction for our forces in Iraq, at least to a degree. Muslim extremists may hate the United States, but there is nobody they would rather fight than Israel.

Now we learn that 70,000 Iranians have volunteered to be suicide bombers in the campaign against Israel. Iran's state news agency reported Monday that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has not responded to their request for permission.

In fact, volunteer suicide groups have made similar requests in the past and the Iranian government has never responded to the requests, giving the campaigns more of the feel of propaganda.

That probably disappoints many of the anti-Iran crusaders who talk about making that country into a parking lot. "Highly hypocritical" is the only term that fits the Americans who hate Ahmadinejad for his statements against Israel, yet advocate taking military action against Iran.

Israel's military strength is a direct reflection of the billions of dollars that the Unites States has funneled into their coffers, courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer.

The Jewish state uses high tech jet fighters to bomb and attack schools marked with a United Nations flag, that was reported today by the U.N.

The reality is that the United States and the United Kingdom have secretly allowed Israel to build up a nuclear arsenal. They could start WW3 with the flick of a switch, the push of a button.

The odds are that nobody will win on the Gaza Strip. Innocent and guilty people will die as Israel shatters the peace and withholds any sign of compromise or restraint.

Even India is calling out for an end to the violence. The nation strongly condemns what they call "Israel's excessive use of military force in Gaza" and calls for an "immediate" halt to Israel's offensive in the strip.

"The retaliation by Israel was not only disproportionate, but totally unacceptable," Indian Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee told reporters in Kolkata.

Most Americans driving their expensive cars to their air conditioned offices do so without the slightest clue of what it would be like to live in a war zone. I believe rooting for war is one of the saddest emotions ever expressed, regardless of who is doing it. Apathy is only slightly better.

Google the following clips: Hamas Rockets During Cease-Fire and From Schoolyard 8 Jan. 09; Mortars Fired by Hamas from UN-Run School in Gaza 29 Oct. 2007; Palestinian gunmen using "UN" ambulances as troop carriers; Weapons Hidden in Mosque Neutralized by Israel Air Force 31 Dec. 2008; Hamas killing wedding party because they were singing. NO LIFE, Muslim or otherwise, is sacred for Hamas. Israel must protect its Arabs, Ethiopians, and Jews alike, whose lives it values tremendously As to this argument that the Jews somehow stole Palestine from the Arabs: The Palestinians' effendi class betrayed the common people in the 1948 war, to the embarrassment of all Arabs - at the time, Radio Baghdad said "Fright has struck the Palestinian Arabs and they fled their country." Your people set the pattern for terrorist murder in your 1929 massacres, and by "avenging" the deaths of 100 Arabs during the battle for Deir Yasin in April 1948 by slaying 77 Jewish nurses and doctors at the Hadassah hospital - doctors who would care for Arab and Jew alike. Awni Abdel Hadi sold 7500 acres of property to Jews, while he vowed to fight until "Palestine...becomes a graveyard for all the Jews in the country." And common people literally threw out Abdel Qader Husseini (the mufti's relative) from Beit Safafa for urging violence against the Jews with whom they worked. The war to destroy Jews in Palestine failed because Palestianian Arabs AT THE TIME held no malice toward Jews, and then Arab governments failed the Palestinian Arabs by trapping them in refugee camps. Now those governments are so afraid of the Palestinians and their peers that they're hoping Israel completely destroys Hamas. Those at odds with the idea of Israel defending its citizens are those at odds with the idea that human life is sacred. And there’s a special place for those people to go.

In these troubled times we certainly need experience to help guide our country. Guess who thinks Leon Panetta will be just perfect at running the CIA? Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger, a deputy offical before becoming national security adviser himself (who refused permission to terminate Osama), said that Panetta "was part of the decision-making process for every single issue we were dealing with, whether this was in the Oval Office with the president or the Cabinet Room — the Middle East, Kosovo, China. He was a part of a small group of people who advised the president (Clinton) how to proceed on strategy and substance." Yes, that Sandy Berger. Former National Security Adviser Sandy Berger was sentenced to community service and probation and fined $50,000 for illegally removing highly classified documents from the National Archives and intentionally destroying some of them. Remember Mr. stocking stuffer and the 911 commission? Berger must perform 100 hours of community service and pay the fine as well as $6,905 for the administrative costs of his two-year probation, a district court judge ruled. Well, I feel better about Panetta, don't you? Though I guess he could have been made Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Fundamentalists and their actions from a position of projected power in any country are to be feared. I would consider the US a nation of tolerance. I cautiously examine other nations by both the words of their leaders and the actions attributed to their members. If Israel wee to disappear from the face of the Earth today, the question begs; Would their be world peace between the Islamic factions who believe their interpretation of the Koran, and the liberal societies of the Western world? http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3369102968312745410

Yes Tim it was an election ploy to look as tough as Benny . Livi who never served in the IDF and the clown who blew the confrontation in Lebanon . It is unfortunate so many have to suffer and no good will come from it . Obama has remained silent only saying there can only be one voice on foreign policy. This could indicate a different position from Bush . This war is NOT in the best interest of Israel or its neighbors . The Israeli leadership in order to boost there standing have gotten into a Bush like war . A total public relation disaster thru out most of the world and even in Israel and the US with highly pro Israeli press. This has caused rioting in the few Arab countries with Israeli ties . The problem now is how do you get out and at what cost . Strong leadership is needed to broker a deal , as both parties are too filled with vile to do it themselves .

wow. Hamas kills Israeli civilians for years, in an endless campaign of terror, insisting Israel must get blown off the map. Israel reacts and finally hunts down the miscreants and you explode into unintelligible angry drivel... Israel needs to just wipe OUT Hamas and Fatah, and all the rest of the organized terrorists and take over so some kind of legitemate governance can occur.

my apologies to tim king who wrote a good article, and I keep posting :-) I will stop after this one.. sorry Tim. great article tho. My question is " where is osama???? interesting question maybe? Has the CIA used him up? :-) Now that 911 is exposed, time to find new enemies? Time for an economic collapse to get peoples mind off the truth of 911? Get the truth off what is going on in Gaza? Just questions. thanks for the article Tim King.

the problem with islam is it's hatred of other religions. here in the philippines, Christians live in fear even though muslims are just a minority. this is because they resort to violence and the killing of innocent civilians. Israel is just protecting itself. wars always hurt civilians. But at least it's not Israel's strategy to really aim at them. Muslim militants however really aim to kill innocent victims. am so sorry but sometimes i feel that the only way to end wars is to put an end to islam whose followers tend to become murderers. aside from this, Islamic countries have a double standard. they don't allow Christians to practice their religion in their countries.

Tim King:  Sorry, but dude, you're full of it!  You are a religious bigot and you are so, so wrong to judge an entire faith off the actions of a few.  Good lord, where would that kind of thinking leave we Christians?  Just tighten your blinders and  follow the herd to the drinking hole.  Many people in all of their lives will do nothing more than tow the line and try to follow the mindless crowd that thrives off hatred and fear.

I should add. linguistic scholars have come out and said that the president of iran did NOT say he was going to wipe israel off the map, he said 'israels actions will wipe themselves off the map"
I do not like the government of iran, so dont take me wrong here. Just clarifying.

Tim King: Thanks for clarifying that extremely important point.  The FOX News watchers won't believe it; after all it is the truth and all... very unpopular with that set.  I believe each time we speak or write the uncomfortable truth, we all benefit.

I have told many people about this news website, in a good way. I hope more people will view it. good job.

Rich.. I agree. You said it brother. It is about truth. I am anti-israel also. but, as you mentioned, I am more anti the propaganda machine. I liked your post.

Tim King: Thanks Vic!

I agree with most of what the author wrote in the above article. The salient fact is that the Obama Administration is made up of scads of pro-Israel personnel (Rahm Emanuel, Chief of Staff, served in the Israeli army, he has dozens of family members living there as do many U.S. senators and house representatives), even more so than the outgoing Bush Administration. I would like to add that when one is involved in any type of self-defense, where death is a by-product, to not only stop that offensive action, but also remove any possibility for it happening again is a pretty logical step to take. Proportionality is a worthless concept during war. As it is these people have been fighting for countless centuries, even long before Islam came into being (before it was Jew v.s. the Goy and in certain regards still is). I make no bones about the fact that I am anti-Israel, but until we change the propaganda machine in this country, people will unfortunately support this war criminal nation.
