(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Police say the Dollar Tree store located at NW Murray Boulevard and NW Cornell Road was robbed at gunpoint Saturday night, by a white male suspect in his mid thirties. Richards Deli, located at SW !85th Avenue and SW Farmington Road, was robbed about three hours later by a suspect who matched the description in the first robbery. No one was injured in either robbery; the suspect is still at large. Sgt. David Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, says Saturday at about 5:20 PM, a suspect approached a female employee inside the Dollar Tree store, located at 13575 SW Cornell Road in unincorporated Washington County, and demanded that she give him the cash in the store. She complied with him, Thompson said, and when the suspect left the store she called 911. "When deputies arrived at the store the employee told them that the man had pointed a gun at her during the robbery and made her go to the back room and retrieve the money from the manager’s office," Thompson said. The woman was not hurt during the robbery, and the suspect reportedly got away with about $300 in cash. The employee described the suspect as a white male adult in his mid 30’s, with a thin build. He was wearing a dark-blue wind breaker, blue jeans, white tennis shoes, an over sized dark-colored baseball cap with a red stripe, the hat was pulled down to his eyes. The clerk said the man was between five foot ten and six feet tall. Hhe had a gruff voice, blue or hazel eyes, and a scruffy beard. She said the gun he carried was had a black and silver handle. Thompson says just over three hours after the first robbery, deputies were called to Richards Deli at 8:53 PM. The deli is located at 6041 SW 185th Avenue in Aloha. "In that case the suspect brought a Keno ticket to the counter and then told the clerk that he wanted all the money. He displayed a hand gun with a black and silver handle. The clerk complied and gave the suspect several hundred dollars in cash." The female clerk described the suspect almost the same as in the first robbery. Thompson says in this case, the establishment had video surveillance. A Washington County K9 unit was brought in to search for the suspect in both cases, but they were unsuccessful in locating him, Thompson said. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in this robbery. If you have any information please call 503-846-2500.
