(SALEM) - The Cascade Surge are pleased to announce that two more players from the 2005 NW Division Championship team have been voted as collegiate All-Americans. Wheaton College junior Stephen Rigby has been named to the NCAA Men's Division III All-America Team. Rigby, was placed on the Second Team and was also chosen to the First Team All-CCIW selection as he led the conference with eight assists this season. He was also named to the ESPN The Magazine College Division Academic All-America Team. Rigby not only helped lead the Surge to the playoffs he also helped Wheaton post a 16-5-2 record and to the second round of the NCAA playoffs. Senior midfielder Luke Williams of Westmont College (CA) has been placed on the 2005 NAIA Men's Soccer All-American Team (honorable mention). Williams, an honorable mention All-American for the second consecutive year, scored four goals and added seven assists for the Warriors, after helping lead the Surge to the league title and Western Conference finals. The Cascade Surge is planning to take a U23 Select Team to be a part of the World Cup "festivities" in Germany this next summer. The team which has currently filled fourteen of their eighteen roster spots will play five "friendly" matches with teams in the Stuttgart area, visit a youth alternative prison and conduct a soccer camp with the Stuttgart Volksmission in June of 2006. Eight players from Corban College head the list of players chosen so far, along with three Salem area high school players also chosen to the team.
