Salem Police Seek Public Information in Robbery Investigation

The suspect is described as a light skinned Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, around six feet tall with medium-heavy build, wearing a light colored T-shirt and blue jeans.

(SALEM, Ore.) - The Salem Police Department is seeking information from the public regarding an armed robbery that occurred at the Tienda El Nopal variety store at 535 Edgewater Street NW in Salem today.

Police Lt. Dave Okada says that at approximately 12:30 PM, a man a white mask entered the store and threatened the store clerk with a handgun. "The suspect demanded money and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen headed westbound from the store on foot."

He says the suspect is described as a light skinned Hispanic male, 25-30 years old, around six feet tall with medium-heavy build, wearing a light colored T-shirt and blue jeans.

Salem Police detectives are asking the public for any information that they may have regarding this investigation. Anybody with information is asked to contact Detective Dan Tallan at 503-588-6050, extension 7132.
