Tim King's TV camera now only shoots for Salem

(Salem) - Get ready Mid-valley! Our look and level of services at Salem-News.com have both changed in a big way~ as you can see for yourself. The site has been rebuilt literally from the ground up, with all of the latest technology and ease of operation required to make surfing our site the best ride ever.

Salem-News.com started in May of 2004 when Tim King was a photojournalist/reporter for Portland ABC affiliate KATU Channel-2. The station based Tim in Salem and the mid-valley for news coverage but only allowed about three and a half minutes of Salem news to air each day. After doing this for a year, Tim decided to start Salem-News.com for all of the extra news that didn`t make the time slot on KATU.

After working for KATU for over three years, Tim recently separated from the station when the station`s new management decided to substantially reduce their coverage of the Salem area. Cutting ties with the Portland TV station now allows Tim to pursue the full development of Salem-News.com with his wife and business partner, Bonnie King, and several other team members.

Salem-News.com is here to give valley residents a choice in media. The group is staffed with seasoned broadcast professionals with major market experience on a level with anything Portland has to offer, all proud to be from Salem and to have a presence and a voice here.
