Feb-09-2015 11:18TweetFollow @OregonNews Kitzhaber 2nd choice?Al Hayward, Letter to the EditorKeeping your mouth shut isn't always the best answer.
(WASHOUGAL, Wash.) - Dear Editor: I could be wrong, but in my opinion and that of most, silence is participation. As was the Oregonian Newspaper silence about much of the romantic baggage Kitzhaber and his girlfriend were carrying when they supported his successful 4th term election. Now only a few days after he was sworn in, the elite and pious editorial board wants to throw the captain overboard less the scandals swirling about them splash mud over their falsely perceived virginity and lack of knowledge of said political problems. Every since the Oregonian went daily and became State's dominate newspaper in 1861, they have used and abused their ability to control information to further their King Maker's role in the State of Oregon. Picking and choosing governors, attorney generals, judges, mayors and other elected officials. And directing the distribution of state and federal funds as well as choosing which business are allow to prosper and which are not. Business world wide are cautioned "You cannot go into business in Portland, Oregon without the support of the Oregonian." Any dumb fool knows that, I duz. Knowing full well the scandal Kitzhaber was bring with him when they welcomed him and his, "first lady" aboard, now the paper's editorial board wants to throw him overboard. It seems their fears of losing any control of state politics and business to an "ugh" Republican governor was so great that they took the risk and now are trying bypass the voters of Oregon and bring in their choice of governor. For they knew it was going to be very tough to get an unknown statewide name elected against a well know sports figure. So they pull in old popular captain Kangaroo, pump him up with hot air, got him elected, and now want to throw him overboard - bypassing the dumb State voters and bring in another but less known democrat, next inline: Sec. of State, Kate Brown. Politics 101. However the old king and young queen may want to stay aboard. But for the Oregonian editorial board to expect others to swallow their road apple pie and believe they knew next to nothing before the election – is akin to NBC claiming they didn't know what their news anchor was saying when he lied. But in Oregon - if the Oregonian didn't print it - it never happened - seems to be their opinion - but not mine. Yours? AL Hayward _________________________________________
