Feb-08-2007 09:34TweetFollow @OregonNews Photo Gallery Launches on Salem-News.comSalem-News.comThe art of photography has a new venue at Salem-News.com.
(SALEM) - One of the latest additions to Salem-News.com is a photo gallery featuring images from published news stories and other sources. With a staff covering local and state news as well as Oregon military operations in Afghanistan, this new feature should be useful for people who appreciate a closer look at the news. General Manager Bonnie King says the step is a big move forward, "Our goal is to provide information and imagery from events that we cover. Adding a photo gallery compliments the other archives that are available on Salem-News.com." A button leading to the gallery is now located on the front page of Salem-News.com. The initial categories are Oregon Coast, General News Photos, Outdoor Pictures and Pictures from Afghanistan. This list will grow with time. King says it is exciting for the staff to show their work in a new arena that is specifically dedicated to still images. "While video is our main specialty, there is no discounting the value of a still image, a moment captured in time." She says the work her husband, Photojournalist Tim King has been generating from Afghanistan is already drawing a flow of visitors to the new image venue. Site visitors that send images to Salem-News.com now have a new option as quality photos submitted to the site will be published. "There is no limit to the size and potential of this new section," says King, underlining her enthusiasm over the public having a chance to become more involved. "Everything about Salem-News.com exists for public consumption and now our visitors can become more involved as the photo gallery raises the level of interactivity." 1943, Yuma, Arizona, on a southerly bearing., clear, full moon nite.,a B-17 inflight on a WWII border patrol-defense mission., failed to clear the top edge of a thousand meter bare stone peak in the Sierra Madres overlooking Mexico., and crashed.,with a loss of all crew. What I want to know is will those photos and others of other era's be accessable? Ghosts can turn up anywhere!,Don't worry., they want to see themselves on the silver screen too! Vain?, you may ask?.,you would Not believe it! They have their own internet and Chertoff the Home Security Nazi, won't let the FCC go to high speed wireless for instant access! It is rumored the Chinese have found a way "in" with $2.00 knock-off's for sale on the streets of Bangkok as I write!

Master Po.,did you not teach that all pebbles are pearls? and to appraise it's value only with a certified G.I.A. gemstone dealer?

That pebble, it is a pearl. So it shall be.
