If you Really Care About our Soldiers in IraqSalem-News.comSalem-News.com prepares to send a reporter to war again to cover Oregon troops.
(SALEM, Ore.) - It's easy to say you support the troops and even apply politics to the statement, but if you really care and want to do something that will make a difference to our fighting men and women overseas, then help Salem-News.com deal with the costs of sending a reporter into a war zone. Salem-News.com is unique as one of the only NW news organizations that has actually sent a reporter off to war. Our Tim King spent two months in Afghanistan embedded with the Oregon National Guard's 41st Brigade Combat Team and the stories were about the soldiers and their accomplishments. If you think this is worthwhile then you can help. It doesn't matter how much you send, anything and everything helps. Tim will cover Oregon Guard soldiers in aviation, infantry security forces and combat engineers. These are the people who are working tirelessly seven days a week in sometimes deadly conditions, and when they are not at war, they are your Oregon neighbors. We need sponsorship from businesses that want to be involved in supporting our troops. We need help from individuals also who want to lend a hand to this tried and true effort to bring families, friends and loved ones a more accurate and up close look at the situation in Iraq and what Oregon's soldiers are doing. So, feel free to email Bonnie King for details at bonnie@salem-news.com or send your support to: Salem-News.com
