Police in Gresham Investigate Stabbing of 17-Year Old GirlSalem-News.com
There are no suspects named at this time but witnesses reported seeing four Hispanic males, approximately 18 to 25 years in age, running from the area.
(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Gresham Police are investigating an assault that sent a local 17-year old girl to the hospital with several stab wounds last night just after 11:00 PM.
Police were dispatched to the Riviera Garden apartments at 900 SE Yamhill, after the residents there found the victim laying in the dirt outside their apartment.
Sgt. Claudio Grandjean with Gresham Police, says witnesses from Apt. 128 told police that the victim who lives in an adjacent apartment had been over visiting and socializing with several people.
The victim told one of the witnesses she was going to go to Apt. 127 to speak with her mother. Shortly after she left, the residents of Apt. 128 heard a knock on their window. When they came out to investigate they found the 17-year old barely conscious outside the apartment. They carried her inside and called 911. The victim was transported to OHSU, where she underwent surgery.
Police Detectives were called out and are continuing to investigate. There are no suspects named at this time but witnesses reported seeing four Hispanic males, approximately 18 to 25 years in age, running from the area.

Three were wearing dark ‘hoodies' while the other was wearing a light colored hoodie. It is not known whether they were related to the assault.
Police have not yet received a statement from the victim due to her condition. They say they hope to interview her as soon as she is able.
