(KEIZER, Ore.) - Keizer Police officers were dispatched to a residential burglary that had just been interrupted by the homeowner this morning at 10:00 AM, at 4789 Tate Avenue North. Keizer Police Captain Jeff Kuhns says the home is under construction at this time, but is nearing completion. The homeowner had apparently stopped by the residence and upon entering the garage she saw the suspect fleeing from it. The suspect was last seen running on foot towards an orchard that is adjacent to this residence. Kuhns says several marked and unmarked police units responded to the area and established a perimeter around the location the suspect was last seen. "A Keizer Police Department K-9 Unit was also dispatched and was responding to conduct a track. At 10:22 AM, before the K-9 arrived, Detective Tim Lathrop observed a subject matching the description of the suspect." Kuhns says this subject was observed walking through a field near the 5000 block of Windsor Island Road North. This person was later identified as 30-year old Aaron Lee Raymond who is described as a transient. He was detained without incident at that time while officers continued to investigate the incident. Story continues below Mr. Raymond was positively identified as the individual who was inside the victim’s dwelling and was arrested for the above mentioned charges. He was transported to the Marion County Correctional Facility, according to Kuhns. He says this burglary was very similar in nature to a burglary that was reported to the Keizer Police Department yesterday, December 20th, in the same neighborhood. "Officers responded to 1370 Rafael Street North after receiving a 911 call from the victim who reported a burglar had just fled their residence." The suspect in this incident was last seen fleeing the area on foot and was described as being very similar in description to Mr. Raymond. The suspect was not located by officers who conducted a search of the area yesterday. Editor's note: We earlier stated that the person arrested was 20-years old, Keizer Police say additional research indicates the person is 30, not 20.
