The Last and Gloomy Pages of Egypt's Revolution

“Take away fear, and the battle of Freedom is half won” – William Ralph Inge: The End of an Age

(ALEXANDRIA, Egypt) - Thomas Merton said, “The truth that many people never understand, until it is too late, is that the more you try to avoid suffering the more you suffer because smaller and more insignificant things begin to torture you in proportion to your fear of being hurt”.

Perhaps this time period best defines that statement, and it is likely Egypt's weathered attempt to shed tyranny and secure a future with liberty, is going to be the new definition.

Warning: The video contains some disturbing scenes.

The footage shows military police officer shooting at unarmed protesters .

Until this moment, Egypt's military council denies using live ammunition against protesters... This, while the new Prime Minister accuses a foreign third party for the killing of innocent civilians.

I have to say that this ranks with the the most disturbing video I have seen coming out of this revolution, and it isn't like we haven't seen people shot and beaten and bludgoened to death and everything else, but the outward shooting of demonstrators is so far beyond acceptable that there are not words for it.

I am fortunate as Ashraf and I have side conversations about these issues and we are so thankful that he turns these reports for our readers, but to see this take place is just over the line. And I can't help but see a parallel with the way Occupy movements in the states have been treated. The tearing down of tents is symbolic now with police and government forces who will turn on their own citizens. To say this is unacceptable is a bit like calling the North Pole slightly cold.

I wrote many website owners including Tim King about what was going on in Egypt, two days after the uprising started. I said "this was all set up by the west. Yes, Egyptians were frustrated, but the west used social engineering thru social media ie: facebook etc to overtake. Then they will put in the muslim brotherhood (owned by israel), and then put el baradie in as president..I said this back in Feb. 2011.
Tim, among many others, did not listen or do their research to see if I was right..Well, I was right. 100%
Salem-news/Tim King are ok, but they dont understand the bigger picture. And as long as Salem-news stays stuck in the left/right paradigm, which they are...their website will be over. Watch and see.
