How Much Betrayal Does it Take, Before you Admit you Have Been Betrayed?

A review of all the Obama broken campaign promises, would take an entire separate article.

Obama

(JAMESTOWN, RI) - Many voted for and supported the Obama candidacy because it was thought he offered a new refreshing view of society, and were highly encouraged by his campaign promises, but at this point must admit, they have been “had” by a con-man in an empty suit. It is no longer possible to support his presidency or his party, for he and the Democratic Party have abandoned long held Democratic Party values and sold out to corporations.

The greatest sin of the Obama presidency, and there are many, is his willingness to be Bush-like and make up a pretext for war. Seymour Hersh, the brilliant investigative reporter who uncovered numerous scandals, recently revealed the Obama administration withheld critical evidence in an attempt to falsely blame Mr. Assad of Syria for using sarin gas. This president, just like Bush, wanted to go to war, and was quite willing to distort and cherry pick the intelligence, and not divulge information that would disprove his premise for war. To any discerning reader, it was evident there was a rush to make war on Syria, but their rush was foiled by the Russians, who peacefully got the Syrians to turn over all the chemical weapons for disposal. In their rush to war the Obama administration failed to disclose rebels were capable of, and in fact had made sarin gas, while lying to the US pubic saying Assad was the only one capable of doing so. Now we know otherwise; now we know this president is no different than Bush. Both withheld and cherry picked intelligence to create a pretext for yet another war, and this coming from a Nobel Peace Prize winner.

It should be apparent, that this administration really never wanted a deal with Iran, and will allow the Congress to sabotage it without a fight by the President, or will take action to make it appear as if Iran is not cooperating. Anyone in the know realizes there is not one bit of evidence to suggest Iran has a nuclear weapons program, but ‘the big lie” prevails, promoted by a complicit press and media a la WMD in Iraq. Any analytical person should know we are being “led” into yet another war based on lies. A few days ago the administration imposed new sanctions and punishment on dozens of countries who trade with Iran, and predictably Iran temporarily walked away from the talks claiming legitimately, that the US had agreed on 6 months of no new sanctions. It should be apparent by listening to the militaristic discourse, the ceaseless warnings of reserving the military option, and imposing new back door sanctions on Iran’s partners, that peace with Iran is not in their playbook.

The second cardinal sin of this administration, not to be confused with the hundreds of others, is his willingness to cut Medicare, long held sacred by the Democratic Party as the cornerstone of their beliefs. Medicare has been cut and Obama supported the cut, despite his promise to preserve it.

A review of all the Obama broken campaign promises, would take an entire separate article. Suffice it to point out that all the campaign promises made by Obama were removed from his website two days after Edward Snowden began to release his information. Ironically one of the promises was to protect whistle blowers.

The Obama administration, with its betrayal of promises, his militaristic attitude towards the world, his desire for making war, his catering to the financial interests and unwillingness to reform them, and his abandonment of core democratic principles, should make it abundantly clear that when it comes right down to it, on matters of war and peace, social programs, spying by an ever growing government monster, government intrusion an every aspect of our personal lives, and despite calling for more transparency in his campaign, there is little or no difference between Democrats and Republicans. They all are taking money from the same corporations and special interests, and both parties show a willingness to sell out the American people while placating those who support them financially. With Congress having an approval rating of 11%, and the President having lost the confidence of the public, it should be pretty apparent that this government is dysfunctional and no longer serves the public good. It is time for the US public to use its very last weapon; the vote. It is time that Americans reject both major parties at the ballot box and support alternate parties formerly ignored, but much more responsive to our needs. As long as we vote for the “lesser of two evils” we deserve what we get.
