(WASHINGTON D.C.) - The Rwandan National Congress has just completed their first year as a viable political opposition group to the current ruling regime in Rwanda. Their accomplishments in this first year are obvious to any political observer as well as their critics. This group has been proactive in its desire to meet face to face with Rwandans in the diaspora while building their platform for a new Rwanda.

In a press statment that Dr. Rudasingwa posted on his Facebook page he has this to say:

The Rwanda National Congress reminds all present and future generations of Rwandans that Rwanda is much more important than, and must transcend, any single person, any single dictator, any single ethnic group, any single region, or any single organization or political party. Rwanda is an enduring and beautiful nation with a resilient people, each one of whom is endowed with inalienable rights as a human being and citizen of the nation. Rwanda is our only home, one in which we and posterity are entitled to live in peace and harmony. We can only survive and thrive as a nation if we work together to ensure prosperity, justice and peace for all its inhabitants.

On December 11, 2011 Dr. Theogene Rudasingwa spoke exclusively to this journalist in regards to the first year anniversary of the development of the Rwandan National Congress. Dr. Rudasingwa spoke on issues past, present and future in regards to the RNC and Rwanda as a nation. No question went unanswered and no topic was denied. The interview is below:

The more I think of Victoire Ingabire, the more I realise that Heros are ordinary people moved by the hand of God. Some times I cry when I think about what she is going through in prison. Some time I rejoice thinking that there is more joy to see people free than to eat and drink in the finest hotels. I feel ashamed because I cannot do what she has done. I feel proud because she is one of us. I feel angry because those who jailed her should be where she is. I feel happy because some disenfranchised men and women in Rwanda and throughout the world will not feel lonely. The Spirit of the Lord is upon her. I believe in the Holy Spirit because of who she is and what she stand for.

Many of us are behind the RNC, do not be discouraged, you must simply do what you know to be right, your journey is in God's good favour, it is in God's hands, and he will lead you all to a better day where corruption and fear are not political tools
