(Earth-Rodeo 21) - Like several parallel Earths in the multiverse, Earth-Rodeo 21 has a hard time getting its priorities straight. For one thing it believes that America has the freedom to destroy the rest of the planet through a variety ways centering around turning their world into Venus II.

Their North America crawls with an armada of carbon spewing, hummer-like vehicles as Americans shake their collective fists in road rage and engage in high speed chases with the police.

Its version of the United States of America can't even decide whether torture is a method approved by their laws which clearly forbid it. Government officials get around the problem by referring to their interrogation methods in other terms. Anyone witnessing the events or watching the videos would call it torture.

But CIA officials now have said that the video records of their procedures have been destroyed. Have they? Or have they merely moved into the hands of a private collector? As you will soon see some people have tastes which run in that direction.

I'm not above pointing out the flaws in my country. How about you? Maybe we can make them squirm a little, at least.

I, too, am amazed and ashamed that the American populace has not risen in righteous outrage at the use of torture in their name. I guess the country is in decline. Had to happen eventually I guess. They care about nothing more than who gets voted off the island in Survivor but won't vote Shrub and Darth Cheney off the island of DC. Ah well...

If what's happened so far under the Bush administration has lit a fire under "reality tv" America nothing will. I am ashamed of self-centered American's lack of action.

Len: If "lighting a candle" does not do it, we may have to light something much more powerful...as has occurred before in this nation.

Leonardo December 16, 2007 7:41 am (Pacific time)

Anyone who engages in torture must receive pleasure from it otherwise they would find some other job. How this nation can condone it is appalling to me and many other citizens. These are the darkest days of our nation's history. Let us hope the next election sheds light.

Henry Ruark December 15, 2007 11:34 am (Pacific time)

Len: As usual yrs right on target. Note torture is TORTURE, and waterboarding participation, for me, is final test of character. IF anyone does participate, how do we separate that always possible small segment of deficiency allowing it from enjoyment of same ?
