Fatal Crash Halts Northbound Traffic on I-5 in Portland

Motorists heading north to Vancouver and beyond are advised to use I-84 eastbound to I-205 northbound to get around the long backup.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - A fatal crash has stopped traffic on Interstate-5 northbound near Marine Drive, Oregon Department of Transportation Officials say.

They are saying motorists heading north in Portland need to avoid the area as I-5 Northbound near Marine Drive will be closed for next three hours.

The fatal crash is blocking the northbound lanes. The crash occurred about 8:00 PM tonight, Thursday, and the required crash investigation will keep most northbound lanes closed until about midnight.
