(WOODBURN) - Woodburn police are investigating the death of a newborn baby.

Police said the baby’s body was found wrapped in a blanket in the back yard of the mother’s home at 873 Meadowvale Lane in Woodburn on Sunday.

Police told FOX-12 that the investigation began when the mother showed up at a Silverton hospital and said she had a miscarriage.

Doctors then examined the woman and said her injuries were not related to a miscarriage.

Neighbors told FOX-12 that the 20-year-old woman has two other children.

Did anyone really knows what happen? The police aren't saying much!

Universal health-care provides stronger access for precisely such situations...we pay for it now anyhow via many hospital ER-visits via choice or necessity when neighbors find victims, both mother and baby.

the baby was still-born (it was premature) it's just sad that she felt she couldn't reach out to anyone

I hope they lock her up in a mental home..As a mother,my heart goes out to that baby.. If she didnt want the baby, some one would have taken it..
