School Based Health Center Opens at Hoover Elementary

The center is open every weekday morning from 7:45 AM – noon.

(SALEM) - Last week, a new health center opened on the Hoover Elementary School campus.

The center is run by Marion County Health Department and it serves students enrolled at Hoover Elementary or any children belonging to the Boys & Girls Club of Marion-Polk Counties.

The School-Based Health Center keeps children in school and ready to learn.

The center provides physical examinations; vision, dental and blood pressure screenings; health and wellness education; prescription medications; immunizations; and diagnosis and treatment of illnesses in a cost-effective manner.

The center is staffed by a nurse, nurse practitioner and clinic assistant.

The community partnership responsible for the new center includes the Boys & Girls Club, Dept. of Human Services, Hoover Elementary School, Kaiser Permanente, Marion County Health Department, Mid-Valley Independent Physicians, Salem Hospital, Salem-Keizer Public Schools, Salem Leadership Foundation and Salem Pediatrics Association.
