Islamic Jihad Movement Praises Iran's Strategic Support for Palestine

The issue of Palestine has a special status in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Since the 1979 victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the Islamic Republic has always backed the cause of Palestine and the oppressed Palestinian people’s struggle against the Zionist regime.

Speaking to the Al-Mayadeen TV network, Abdullah Mohammad Shalah described the movement’s relations with Iran as very good and said Tehran’s backing for Palestine is unwavering.

In response to the question of whether Iran changed its policies towards resistance movements after the nuclear agreement, Shalah said, "Iran’s (supportive) stance towards Palestine does not vary according to different conditions but they are based on a strategic standpoint."

He went on to say that the issue of Palestine has a special status in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Since the 1979 victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, the Islamic Republic has always backed the cause of Palestine and the oppressed Palestinian people’s struggle against the Zionist regime.

He also said that Israel is the biggest threat to Muslim Ummah. Imam Khomeini and Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution always emphasized on liberation of Palestine as a duty of Muslims.
