(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The Oregon Trail Chapter of the American Red Cross has opened four evacuation centers in response to current weather events. The locations are:
There are additional centers in these areas operated by other organizations. As of 11:00 AM, there were 30 people at the Tillamook center. Due to phone outages, updated numbers are not available. Salem-News.com reported shortly after 1:00 PM today that there are power outages and phone lines are down in the towns of Newport, Lincoln City, Astoria, and Seaside are without power. In many cases, cell phone service has also been interrupted. Oregonians are advised to stay off the roads as much as possible.
