(ALBANY, Ore.) - Linn County Sheriff's deputies have eradicated a large outdoor marijuana operation in a remote area between Scio and Lyons. Deputies, assisted by members of the Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team pulled and destroyed 3,400 marijuana plants Tuesday and Wednesday. Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says some of the plants reached over 10 feet in height. "The estimated street value of these plants is estimated at $10,200,000 at a $3,000 value of each plant." The Sheriff says the operation was located in the mountainous area near McCully Mountain on Weyerhaeuser property. "Evidence of campsites and a watering system were discovered nearby." "The marijuana was spotted from the air by deputies during a flyover of the area," Mueller added. "The Sheriff's Office conducts these flyover operations annually, searching for marijuana operations." No arrests have been made at this time; however Mueller says the case does remain under investigation. Last September, Linn County Sheriff's deputies raided a 4,700 plant operation. WHAT A CRYIN' SHAME, EH?. It only goes to show you, "give the gringos an acre and they cultivate a mile!" I suppose criminal charges are to be filed?. I want to thank the enforcement agencies for upholding the law and keeping the streets safe.
