(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Multnomah County Detectives are trying to learn what happened to a 25-year old Caldwell, Idaho woman named Misty Lavon DeVaney, who was murdered and discovered last Sunday near Highway 30.

Details of the woman's cause of death are not be released at this time and police do not have a suspect in custody.

Lt. Jason Gates with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office says their East County Major Crimes Team has been diligently following up on leads in this investigation and continues to do so at this hour.

He says they are asking for the public's help. Misty DeVaney arrived in Portland on the afternoon of Thursday August 2nd, 2007, having traveled from Caldwell Idaho by Greyhound Bus.

Staying with associates, Gates says she was reportedly last seen on Friday morning. "She may have frequented the areas of North, Northeast, and Northwest Portland during the time she arrived until she was found."

Anyone who has information regarding this case or who may have had contact with or seen Misty DeVaney anytime from Thursday afternoon through Sunday morning is asked to call the Multnomah County Sheriff's Tip Line at 503-261-2847.

Misty DeVaney has lived in the Portland area before, and has a history with the Multnomah Sheriff's Office for prostitution and drug charges. The last time she was in custody was in April 2005.

Gates say that at this time, they have no reason to believe this murder is anything other than a single event, and consequently not a cause for public alarm.

Police hope these images may help somebody identify Misty DeVane whose body was discovered last Sunday off Highway 30
