(ALBANY, Ore. ) - On Tuesday, at 10:45 AM, Albany Police Detectives arrested 70-year-old Albany resident, Leo James Christian, a registered sex offender, in connection with an on-going sex abuse investigation. Leo Christian was lodged in the Linn County Jail on five counts of Sex Abuse in the First Degree and one count of Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree. The investigation began in June 2007 when an 18-year old female Albany resident reported to police that she had been sexually abused by Leo Christian, a family friend, when she was 13-years-old. The abuse was alleged to have occurred over a weekend period when the victim visited Leo Christian at his residence. The investigation revealed that Leo Christian has engaged in a nearly 20 year pattern of sexually abusive behavior towards teenage females.
