(SALEM) - The Oregon Department of Transportation is urging motorists to Be Aware! of nighttime road work along Interstate 5 from milepost 283 in Wilsonville to milepost 169 in Cottage Grove over the next two weeks.

Striping crews will be working on both the north-and south-bound sides of the freeway.

The striping will take place from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM, beginning Monday, and crews expect to complete a 20-mile section of roadway each night.

They will begin at milepost 258 and move south, then return to complete the section between mileposts 258 and 283 near Wilsonville by the night of August 17th.

Roadway striping is a slow-moving operation which affects one lane at a time; minimal delays are expected.

Drivers should watch for signs and be prepared to change lanes.

ODOT encourages all motorists to proceed with caution through work zones.
