(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Two men have been arrested in the strangulation death of 15-year old Dani Jen'e Countryman, who was found dead at the Balboa Apartment complex in Milwaukie Saturday morning, July 28th, by her sister Ashley Countryman. She was visiting Oregon from Texas.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Major Crimes Unit arrested 24-year old Alejandro Emeterio "Alex" Rivera Gamboa, and 23-year old Gilberto Javier "Gabe" Rivera Gamboa, who are cousins.

They are the believed to be responsible for the strangulation murder of Dani Countryman. Sergeant Kevin Layng with the Clackamas Sheriff, says he is pleased with the swift progress of this murder investigation, "and especially pleased with the performance of his Major Crimes Unit investigators, who worked so diligently on this tragic murder investigation.

A total of seven MCU investigators were perpetually working on this assigned murder investigation." The lead investigator assigned to this case was Detective Dan Krause. Layng says his bilingual capabilities and investigative dexterity proved to be exceptionally valuable during this particular investigative effort.

One of the men, 24-year old "Alex" Gamboa, has been in the custody of the Clackamas County Jail, when he was first arrested on the scene last Saturday during the initial phase of this murder investigation. Police say he is now lodged for the additional charge of Aggravated Murder.

23-year old "Gabe" Gamboa, was employed as a landscaper and arrested late this afternoon by members of the Clackamas County Major Crimes Unit.

Layng says this arrest occurred as Gamboa returned to his residence in the Balboa Apartments, on SE Courtney, in Milwaukie, with no resistance. He is now in the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Jail, and also lodged for the crime of Aggravated Murder. Jim Strovink with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says his agency wishes to thank the community and media for their generous support of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office during this complex murder investigation.

"The Major Crimes Unit investigators recognized early on that they would be investigating a large pool of individuals -- a task demanding a large number of difficult interviews and the tedious collection of critical forensic evidence." He adds that it is very satisfying for the Sheriff's Office to announce the arrest of these murder suspects; which will hopefully bring a modicum of relief to the community, the victim's family and friends. Arraignment in this matter will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, in the Clackamas County Circuit Court.
