Man Tries to Rape Female Jogger at Salem College

The suspect is described as a Hispanic Male, 25 years of age, with a medium build.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who attempted to rape a woman Thursday night in northeast Salem.

Deputies say last night just after 10:00 PM, they responded to Chemeketa Community College on the report of an attempted rape.

As the other runners left and only the victim and suspect remained the suspect approached the victim from behind and pushed her to the ground.

He attempted to pull her clothing off, however, the victim had a set of keys in hand and began hitting the suspect in the face with them.

K-9 units from Marion County and Salem Police responded to check the area for the suspect, however he remains at large.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic Male, 25 years of age, with a medium build.

He has short black hair and has no facial hair. He was last seen wearing black shorts and a black sleeveless shirt.

Why shouldn't she be out at that time of night. 10pm is not too late for an adult, heck I've seen children up that late. Or do you mean *she* shouldn't be out? Women should be just as safe as a man would be. Talk about blaming the victim... sheesh I'm all for branding rapists so there can never again be any question.
