Right Wing Liars: Michael Charles Master, James David Manning, GiniCorp, and ATLAH World Ministries

These people are hypocrites, liars and con artists, pure and simple.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - ATLAH World Ministries is a bizarre “Christian” ministry operated in Harlem by an ex-felon named James David Manning. Manning espouses a variety of conflicting racists view points, which even Fox News labels as “Hate Filled,” although that doesn’t stop them from giving him air time.

In a notorious Fox News interview, Manning stated of Obama: “His African in heat father went a-whoring after a trashy white woman. He was born trash. I said he was born trash. I didn't trash him. I'm speaking the truth about him.” ^[1]

Thus, it can be observed that Manning is a low rent shill who serves the function of repeating stock racist bigotry, which would be more fitting for a KKK rally, on National Television. In the bizarre society that determines the legitimate boundaries of national political discussion, these views are acceptable, as long as they are coming out of the mouth of a black man.

Manning keeps an interesting set of friends for a guy who advocates the racial cleansing of Harlem, and throwing out the “doctors,” “lawyers,” and “rich whites.” Most notable amongst these friends are a group of rich white right-wing former corporate executives.

Michael Charles Master, who Manning calls a “close personal friend” in a video testimonial for Master’s book “Save American Now,” is a former employee of IBM and executive at Amdahl^[2].

Master is linked to David Beamer, another right wing shill, who has made a small industry for himself off of his son’s death on Flight 93, and voice on a tape recording saying “let’s roll.” Both Master and Beamer worked for IBM and Amdahl, and David Beamer is a contributor to Master’s book.

Michael Master’s portfolio of published work is thin. All I could find associated with his name were a few relatively mild pieces published at atlah.org. One work, entitled “Democrat Double Talk About Unemployment,” was essentially boiler plate condemnation of the “Democrat agenda” of higher taxes, health care, and immigration, that is supposedly “destroying America.”

I haven’t read Master’s book, but if he would like to send me a copy, I would be happy to review it.

What is most interesting about Master, and his anti-government pro-market ramblings, is his association with the company GiniCorp. GiniCorp is owned Virginia Master, which allows them to get preferential treatment as a “disadvantaged” business when they compete for government contracts^[3].

GiniCorp bids for contracts with both the Federal Government and the District of Columbia. Their location at 601 Pennsylvania Ave in Washington D.C. gives them an additional preferential advantage as a “local” business when bidding for contracts with the District of Columbia.

The District of Columbia has an interesting policy of only keeping listings of awarded contracts online for one year, and then requiring a Freedom of Information Request to access the information after a year.

Luckily, their poorly designed system only removes the contract award listings from the index, but leaves the actual award details online, which makes some of them accessible through Google.

What I found through Google, are three contracts for GiniCorp.

The largest appears to be a recurring contract for $10 million dollars a year.

• The first contract is for the period of 8/30/06 - 8/29/07 (see: Information Technology Services, Equipment & Softwaret - app.ocp.dc.gov)
• The second contract in this series is for the period of 8/30/07 - 8/29/08 (see: Information Technology Services, Equipment & Software - app.ocp.dc.gov)
• Another, smaller contract for $270,720 is also listed. (see: Professional Services - app.ocp.dc.gov)

All of these contracts show that GiniCorp was given preference as a “Local” and “Disadvantaged” business, on account of their residence within D.C. and being owned by a woman. However, both of these claims are subject to some question.

GiniCorp is “owned” by Virginia Master, but it is Michael Master who has the long history of working in the IT industry. In fact, in a Washington Post article quoting Michael Master’s opposition to a D.C. law requiring increased transparency in outsourcing, Michael Master is cited as the “owner of the consulting firm GiniCorp.” ^[4]

The ownership of GiniCorp by Virginia Master appears to be nothing more than a cynical ploy on their part to get preferential treatment in bidding for government contracts, with Michael Master not only acting as owner, but representing himself as the owner of GiniCorp to the press.

GiniCorp’s status as a “Local” business is even more dubious. The address listed for GiniCorp (601 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE NW, 900 South) is a temporary office rental which can be rented for as little as one night.

Interestingly, 601 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE NW, 900 South, is also listed as the address of the notorious con artist Frank Abagnale, who was the subject of the movie “Catch Me If You Can.” ^[5]

Other company documents for GiniCorp, including the registration for the domain name ginicorp.com, list a residential mailing address for the firm. This home, at 8004 BYRNWOOD CT, McLean VA, is currently on the market for $2.5 million dollars.

Other than the question of whether or not Michael and Virginia Master willfully misrepresented GiniCorp as a “Local” business in order to get improper preferential treatment in bidding for government contracts, one must also ask how a company with no legitimate business address has been able to execute tens of millions of dollars in contracts.

The three contracts found in D.C. are most likely not the only contracts that have been awarded by the D.C. government. On top of this GiniCorp has also received about $8 million in Federal contract awards, starting in 2004^[6].

After reviewing GiniCorp’s website, I found that it is based on a premade template from Network Solutions. How is it that a company that cannot even build its own website, and has no legitimate commercial address, has received at least $30 million dollars in government contracts for Information Technology services over the past five years?

That is a question for the government entities that have paid out tens of millions of dollars to GiniCorp, but what is clearly exposed here is the profile of a typical right-wing, anti government, anti social services, anti tax, “free marketeer.”

Living in a multi-million dollar home, exploiting preferences given to “minority owned” businesses, making millions on government contracts, and demanding that they be given an even bigger slice of the pie, while at the same time advocating that the government cut spending on real services, in order to maintain spending on dubious private contracting.

These people are hypocrites, liars and con artists, pure and simple.
