(OREGON CITY) - Police say a male driver in a pick-up truck backed up and knocked a woman to the ground Tuesday afternoon in an Oregon City gas station parking lot. Clackamas County investigators are hoping that somebody can help identify that man who left Kimberli Lyons, a third-grade teacher, lying in a parking lot unconscious and suffering from a serious head injury. Witnesses say they saw Kimberli Lyons Tuesday at approximately 12:30 PM, standing next to a blue, Dodge, pick-up truck conversing with a male driver, who was seated at the steering wheel. They were in the Shell gas station in the Ashley's business complex on State Hwy 212 and State Hwy 26. The witness reports that the Dodge pick-up truck went into reverse at a high rate of speed and knocked Kimberli Lyons to the pavement, which resulted in serious injuries. The pick-up truck was then observed fleeing the scene at a continued high rate of speed westbound on Hwy 212. Kimberli Lyons is a third grade school teacher employed by the David Douglas School District, and is married to Jerry Lyons, who is employed as an instructor at the Mt. Hood Community College. Investigators say Jerry Lyons told them his wife Kimberli had mentioned earlier in the day she was planning to drive with recyclables to Shorty's Corner, just east of Sandy on Hwy 26. Kimberli Lyons’ personal vehicle was initially missing and not accounted for at the time of this incident. The vehicle was located earlier this morning on private property just east of the Boring Fire Department, on Hwy 212, in Boring; a short distance from the crime scene. Her vehicle is now in the possession of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and being forensically examined by investigators. Kimberli Lyons vehicle is a 2003, Ford, F-250 King Ranch 4X4 pick-up truck; colored green over brown; with Oregon license plate SL57347. Kimberli Lyons was transported to Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital, where she is reported to remain unconscious and recuperating from a serious head injury. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in attempting to identify the suspect involved in this reported incident. The suspect vehicle is described as a 2000 - 2002, Dodge pick-up truck, with an extended cab - 2 door type, with a long bed, dark blue in color and equipped with a dark blue canopy, with a roof rack. The driver was the only occupant, described only as a white male. If anyone has investigative information pertaining to this reported incident that involves Kimerli Lyons, they are encouraged to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Tip Line at 503-723-4949.
