(ST. PAUL, Ore. ) - Oregon Department of Transportation crews braved the overnight thunderstorm that passed overhead as they filled a sinkhole on Oregon Highway 219 east of St. Paul.

The highway is now back open in both directions after the sinkhole collapsed part of the highway Thursday.

ODOT maintenance staff upon arrival found the hole which was about two feet deep, and spent the night filling and patching it with what is called a cold patch for the weekend.

By next week, ODOT says the highway will go into the regular maintenance schedule for repair.
