(SALEM) - Just after 11:30 PM last night, Marion County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Team Deputy Shane Burnham, who was working traffic enforcement, saw a 2004 Subaru merge onto I-5 southbound at Woodburn and accelerate to a high rate of speed.

The deputy paced the car at speeds of more than 130 miles per hour.

Once the deputy activated the emergency lights on his patrol car the driver pulled the car over.

The driver, 20-year-old Fue Thao, told Deputy Burnham he thought it was his friend behind him and he and his friend often race to Salem to go to work.

Thao was arrested and charged with Reckless Driving for driving 130 mph in a 65 mph zone and other minor traffic offenses.

This guy is a disgrace to the Subaru and import enthusiast community. I hope they impound and sell his car and take away his license forever.
