Keizer Police Department Offering Personal Safety Courses

The courses consist of instructional presentations, training exercises and dynamic simulations.

(KEIZER) - The Keizer Police Department is providing several personal safety courses to businesses and other members of the public.

The courses are free of charge and are designed to increase the level of personal safety awareness to groups of individuals.

Dealing Effectively with Hostility and Violence in the Workplace

This course teaches participants how to effectively deal with hostility, confrontation and violence in the workplace. Participants will learn how to protect themselves from physical assault and workplace homicide.

Personal Protection Strategies for Women

This course educates participants about the myths and facts relating to sexual assaults, personal protection strategies and personal defense devices.

Self-Defense Tactics for Women

This course teaches participants about the basic fundamentals of personal self-defense against attack such as striking, kicking and blocking techniques.

Child Safety and Abduction Resistance

This course teaches participants about basic child safety rules, child personal defense tactics and safety education for parents.

Citizen Pepper Spray Certification

This course teaches participants about pepper spray, its effectiveness and limitations, and specific application.
