Ride Free on Cherriots And Leave Your Car at Home on Car Free Day

(SALEM) - Learn how your transportation choices affect your health, your pocketbook, and the environment.

The fourth annual Car Free Day is Wednesday, April 19th.

Salem-Keizer middle and high school classes will take field trips using Cherriots.

While riding the bus, students can enter a prize drawing by completing a scavenger hunt form.

Prizes of $1,500 will be awarded to the middle school and the high school with the greatest number of field trips taken.

The school with the highest percentage of riders will win $400.

The most creative Car Free Day promotion wins $400.

Here's how to ride and win:

Click and clip out the Car Free Day scavenger hunt entry form at www.cherriots.org Complete the scavenger hunt.

Don't forget to give your name and your school's name. Take a field trip with your class on April 19.

The deadline to schedule field trips is April 14th. Deposit your entry in the special envelope at the front of the bus at the end of your ride. From 3:30 to 6:30 PM at Hatfield Plaza, you can shop for plants offered by La Belle View Nursery, sample teas from the Beanery, or browse the information booths provided by local agencies.

A travel trainer will present "How To Ride" information every half hour.

Students and the public are welcome to attend.
