(SALEM) - A man who witnesses say forced one vehicle off the roadway after he crossed the center line struck another vehicle sending both men to the hospital. Pavel Bobko, age 32, of Salem was driving his silver Dodge Caravan on Cordon Road NE between Sunnyview Road NE and Carolina Road NE this afternoon ar ound 2:00 p.m. That is when witnesses say it left its lane of travel and collided head on with a white Dodge Dart driven by Isiah Ursprung, age 40, of Salem. Both men were transported by ambulance to Salem Hospital with what investigators are describing as serious injuries. The Marion County Traffic Safety Team's CRASH Unit had the road closed for nearly two hours while they investigated. Although it is early in the investigation alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor in today's crash. As of this time the Sheriff's Office is not prepared to release any further details about this incident. News Release from Marion Co. Sheriff's Office
