(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Harley-Davidson will host a public welcoming party this weekend on April 12th and 13th, celebrating the latest addition to their motorcycle family as Big Bear Choppers, from Big Bear Lake, California, officially becomes part of their product offering. Local radio station KBZY will be covering the event all weekend, and will be on site at the dealership on Saturday from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM with a live broadcast. Live music will be provided by Madcap Daze on Saturday from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Food will also be available. Salem Harley-Davidson will also provide a $500 in-store shopping spree with the purchase of any Big Bear Chopper during this weekend event. Kevin Alsop, owner and founder of Big Bear Choppers, will appear in person on April 12th 2008, at Salem Harley-Davidson to speak with customers about these high-quality bikes. He will be available to discuss riding, building choppers, and the history of Big Bear Choppers. Additionally, Alsop is bringing the Big Bear factory trailer with a large selection of very special Big Bear Choppers for display and purchase. Big Bear legend Mike ‘The Greek” will also be on hand. Salem Harley-Davidson was recently appointed the second exclusive Big Bear Chopper dealer in the state of Oregon, and will sell and service Big Bear Chopper motorcycles from their location at 3601 Silverton Rd. in Salem, one block east of Interstate 5. Big Bear Chopper models offered by Salem Harley-Davidson will include the Athena Chopper, Athena ProStreet, Merc Softail, and Screamin’ Demon. "I have been involved in the chopper market for many years, even owning my own shop for a period of time," said Clif Fodge, general manager of Salem Harley-Davidson. "I am familiar with many of the chopper lines in the market today and I think these Big Bear bikes are the best value in an American heavyweight custom chopper."
