(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - The Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Woodburn Police Department are investigating a crash that sent two people to the hospital.

Sgt. Jeff Wheeler says just after 11:00 PM, both agencies responded to a crash in the 1700 block of south Boonesferry road. The vehicle, a 2003 Mazda, was traveling southbound on Boonesferry road when it drove into a ditch.

Both occupants of the vehicle appeared to have been ejected from the car Wheeler said.

Both occupants were transported by ambulance to the Salem Hospital.

The passenger, 21-year-old Dora Ramirez-Duenas, from Keizer, sustained injuries to her shoulder.

The driver, 22-year-old Luis Elizondo-Moran, also of Keizer, sustained injuries to his back and head.

Wheeler says alcohol appears to be a possible factor in the accident.
