Five Arrested After Breaking Into Stephens Middle School

(SALEM) - Five people were arrested Wednesday morning after breaking into Adam Stephens Middle school in northeast Salem.

Lt. Bill Kohlmeyer says just after 5:00 AM, police received a report of several high school aged people breaking the school's library window.

When authorities arrived they discovered that the library had been entered and numerous items had been taken.

Officers then located the suspects, three adults and two juveniles, and recovered several pieces of electronic equipment including computers and a video camera.

All of the suspects were charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, and first degree theft.

The 15 and 17-year-old Juveniles were taken to the Marion County Juvenile Department.

The adults, 20-year-old Jay Bryant Duarte, 21-year-old Arturo Casarrubias, and 20-year-old Alma Lorena Colmenares were booked into the Marion County Jail.
